The Final Conference of the Smart-AKIS H2020 project took place in Brussels on June 27, 2018. The Conference was titled “The future of Agriculture in Europe: Smart Farming leads the way” and aimed at highlighting the main achievements of the project after 30 months of work and implementation.
The Conference was attended by various stakeholders of smart farming in Europe, such as policy makers, companies providing smart farming solutions, agricultural research organizations, agricultural advisors etc.
The sessions of the Conference included the following components:
- Testimonials on the use of Smart Farming Technologies in Europe,
- Best practices on how farmers, research, industry and advisors engaged in farming innovative processes and
- First time presentation of the Recommendations and Policy Briefs resulting from the reflection process carried out during the project.
The Conference also included a Smart Agriculture Exhibition Village, an informal and networking forum with audiovisual materials, posters and dissemination materials. The forum engaged representatives from Smart-AKIS and other EU projects and initiatives activated in the field of smart farming. DataBio was among the selected projects exhibited at the area and was presented by Dr. Nikolaos Marianos, NEUROPUBLIC’s Head of European Projects’ Department.
Mr. Marianos presented an overview of the project and focused on the smart farming pilots of DataBio. He also had the opportunity to talk with Conference participants visiting the Exhibition space of the DataBio project at the Smart Agriculture Village about the data-powered smart farming approach of the project.
